Hanging out with the Family

It is always fun to be able to visit and play with our adorable nephew, Luke!

We all got together for some family time. It was fun to be able to visit with everyone and enjoy a delicious dinner of Lasagna thanks to our hosts Pam and Paul.

Rabbit Hash Kentucky 1813 style

We headed into the Kentucky/Ohio area to visit with friends and family. Jp took me to a historic town near his grandparent's house called Rabbit Hash. It is famous for having a dog as the mayor of the town. The town has been a Jeopardy question a few times- finally a question I might know the answer to.

Four Corners

We past the spot where four different states touch during our road trip. We stopped to check it out. It was cool to be able to stand in four different states at one time.

Grand Canyon

We made a trip toward the amazing Grand Canyon! Check out the fabulous views of this natural landmark.

Arizona

We headed from Nevada into Arizona. We stopped in a cute town along famous route 66. The town had cute roadside dinners and a train museum.

Hoover Dam

Next stop Hoover Dam. It is an amazing sight, but pretty hard to photograph. Jp and I were pretty impressed with the new bridge that is being build to avoid traffice driving directly over the dam.

Hoover Dam Stats
Height: 726 feet (221m)
Width: 1,244 feet (379 m)
Thickness at base: 660 feet (203 m)
Thickness at top: 45 feet (13 m)

Viva Las Vegas

We spent the night in Las Vegas enjoying the sights and sounds of the Vegas strip. We stayed just off the strip in the Westen Hotel. We walked along the strip and were amazed by the lights and size of the buildings. We rode the New York Casino’s roller coaster to start the evening off right. It was interesting to see the city from the height of the coaster. We had dinner at ESPN Zone and watched the Bowl game between Utah and Alabama. We finished the evening as HIGH rollers at the penny slots. I won a JackPot!!- sadly it was only for 13 bucks.
